Hello, twenty-twelve.

Happy New Year, all!

Here’s a few bits of information to stop your mind thinking about how much weight you’d gained over the Christmas period…

This year, we will be recording and releasing our baby/monster ’The Thundering Triumph of Knowing What’s Right’ EP. In rehearsals, it sounds fucking huge and really quite beautiful too. The plan is to actually buy some proper studio time, and give the treatment we know these songs deserve. We’ve also got some nice ideas on how we’d like it presented also… but more on that when we figure out just how realistic the plan is.

To celebrate the New Year, and in the spirit of progressing and moving forward, we’ve slashed the prices of all our merch. We want rid of it all. You can now grab a tee for £4.99. The limited edition physical release of A Coastal Dance on The Grave of Romance is now only £2, or you can grab the digital download for a single queen head. Also, our old EP (cleverly titled ‘EP’) is still available for free (or donation). Grab it while you still can…

Music can be purchased here: http://everyoneanarmy.bandcamp.com
Tee’s can be purchased here: http://everyoneanarmy.bigcartel.com

We’ve had a surprising ammount of downloads of our Home Sessions. We’ll be recording and releasing a lot more this year. For free! Any requests? Hah.

We will soon be removing the ’Charlie Chaplin Died on Christmas Day’ Christmas EP from our bandcamp as it’s no longer Christmas (get the tree down, move on!). However, if you can’t wait for more of our ugly Christmas spirit next year, maybe grab it while you still can. It’s free, too.

All proceeds from all mentioned above will go straight into helping us record the new EP.

If you wish to be even more involved in helping us raise funds for the new EP, we’ll be launching something in the next week or two for you to take part in.

Let’s smash 2012.

One more thing: We’d just like to thank all you folk who voted for us in the Riffmas Number One competition. We managed to come in second place. We’ve never really taken part in competitions before, and it meant so much to know you had our backs when we needed it!

Seeing as it’s Christmas.

Not only are we giving away the stellar “The Christmas Truce” from our EP “A Coastal Dance…” for FREE download here:

But we’re ALSO releasing a lovely, wee digital Christmas EP complete with covers, acoustic versions and nifty new artwork!

More details on that very soon!

Last but not least, we shall be running a Christmas competition to win a FREE Tshirt/Badge/EP package, which can be given away as a gift to a loved one or worn with pride over the festive period, depending on your financial situation!

More details on the soon too.

Aren’t we bloody lovely?! Yes, we bloody are!
Yours, forever and a day,

M&I&L

Woke up to lots of banging today. We have a builder in our house replacing our door, he looks like a walrus.

Emails- We’re doing a lot of these today (Iain’s not, he’s sleeping). We’re planning for something quite special, you see. More on that soon!

I’ll likely crack on with our new home sessions track too. It’s lovely.

Can’t stop listening to TKOL RMX1234567. Seriously, check it out.

Interview with Sloucher.org

A few months ago, we reviewed a couple of recordings by a band called Everyone an army. Lo and behold, Tonan & Coral managed to corner them with promises of Müller corners (toffee, natch) and cajoled a few answer out of them.

How would you describe yourself to somebody who’s never heard you before (genre, similar bands?)

Martyn: We have a very eclectic music taste between us so, naturally a lot of that seeps into our sound, without us realizing sometimes! But we’d pompously call it “melodic, loud, alternative rock. On a grand scale.”

What made you get together as a band? (Besides being locked with “some guitars, some drums and a strained voice in a cold, dark attic.”)

M: Lee (bass) and original drummer Nick, worked with mine and Iain’s old band as a producer and when that fizzled out, it made sense, given mutual influences and tastes to see what we could come up with together. Unfortunately, Nick had to leave through work commitments. Fortunately Iain was on hand to lend us his arms and legs.

All that and a mutual hate for manufactured, boring chart-toss.

Lee: I’d been in loads of bands before but was never completely happy. So I was doing my own thing and the odd collaboration with Nick, and we ended up recording Mart’s former band. We’d been looking for someone to jam with and when Mart was free we stopped looking. After that, a lot of cold nights in an attic with our instruments… blah blah blah.

Bedroom Sessions

Hoiyah!

To show you we en’t dead or nuffing, we’re going to be uploading a lovely new track for you to listen to and love.

It’s a raw, pretty, warts n’ all acoustic version of the new track “The Thundering Triumph Of Knowing What’s Right”

And the best part is (aside from it giving your ears a nice, big cuddle ‘til you get bored of it) that it’s pay-what-you-want-so-you-can-nab-it-for-NOWT from the music section of the website:

everyoneanarmy.bandcamp.com

This will be the first of many bedroom session recordings that we’ll be uploading over the coming months.

Just make sure you do us a favour and spread the word, you little charmer.

Look after each other!

The Thundering Triumph of Knowing What’s Right.

We’ve got new songs. Four full ones to be precise. They’ll be recorded as soon as we possibly can. We’d like them out in time for Christmas. Hold tight!
Iain’s got a new kit. It makes him louder. My ears still hurt from practice.
Martyn’s got a little angry amp which is working wonders for rehearsals. He’s also been playing with a looper. My looper. He’s also got a new phone, it has a 4 track recorder on it. He’s busting out a hella lotta harmonies, n’ shit.
My bass amp is on it’s last legs. Looking for a job. I’ll get it replaced. I have no money. Banks are cunts.
We’re rehearsing much more than we did before, and in my opinion we’re a proper tight unit now.
Looking for gigs, promoters get in touch!

Love and stuff.

We all share a house now which makes writing and rehearsing an absolute doddle. Almost.

As you’ll see our living room is bare. We’re just off to go buy some lamps and stuff, make it more homely.

Then, we’ll be coming back to finish of these FOUR new songs we’ve got. Holy fuck! Almost time to record…

15/06

We were expected to perform a set on the 7th August at Wykeham Gathering, however, due to Martyn having to be elsewhere, myself and Iain will be doing a set of Citizen Tank material instead. Also performing will be our friend Codie and What Would Chuck Do?, awesome!

In other news, we’ll doing a live radio session before we pack up and move away. Hurrah!

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Listening to this today reminded me that we’ve got a handful of remixes by various artists, and it’d be a shame to leave them alone, gathering dust.

[To those who have asked for multitracks, I will send them out your way. I promise!]

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this deliciously violent remix of our track A Coastal Dance on the Grave of Romance by Katarrhaktes.

This track (and more) will be available to download in the future.

Post-Launch Party.

Last night.

Thank you all very much for attending! We had an absolute blast.

It would appear various videos and photos were taken throughout the night, I’m going to try and locate some and put something together for the YouTube channel. Hold tight.

I’m pretty tired, so now I shall rest.

Love and stuff,
Lee
